Knitting Freaks!!!

Ok, so who doesn't love an old lady who sits around in her rocking chair all day knitting for hours on end? Well, I know I do. I learned to knit literally yesterday! I'm soo proud of myself. If you don't know how to knit, you should definitely learn!!! It's fun (well, sorta), and you can do sooo much stuff with it. It can even save you money.

My first official project is a headband. I got the pattern off of Ravelry.
So this obviously isn't me, it's the creator of the pattern, but I hope mine turns out at least half as good!!

This is mine so far. Don't worry, I'm sure it will turn out better than that haha:)
But if you wanna learn how to knit, all you need is some needles, some yarn, and a book or youtube!!! Ravelry is a really awesome website and most of the patterns are free! So definitely check it out!!!

Well, that's about it for now! Comment:) haha

The End of 2010

Can you believe it? 2010 is almost over! It's soo hard to believe! So many things have happened this year. Some were life-changing. Others were just normal traditions that happen every year. I'll have to say, 2010 was a success in my eyes. Trial hit my family hard sometimes, but nothing we couldn't handle. My family is so tough. No matter the battle, we always seem to fight through and stick together. I love all of my family so much! I couldn't make it without them! I have had the chance to experience being a freshman and a sophomore in high school, and I've had the chance to be a 14 year old and also a 15 year old all in one year! I was able to go to basketball camp, horse camp, church camp, and other basketball tourneys! It was one of the busiest years of my life!!

National Youth Convention was amazing! This year it was held in Orlando, Florida! It was so exciting. So many people from my church went, and many of them had never flown before. It was such an experience! I got to go to Disney World while I was there and see Cinderella! While at the Convention, I met so many new people. To name a few, I met Josh, Carlos, Josie, Riley, Don, and some other people in elevators. haha

This year I have grown so close to Alexis Reynolds. She is my best friend! We're dweebs when we're together, but that's just how our friendship is. We're crazy, and if you don't like to laugh, then you shouldn't hang around with us. We love to do random, fun things. We especially like to talk in Spanish! haha I'm so glad that I have as good of a friend as Alexis!

Alexis and I with Princess Honky Donkey:)

This Summer, I became such great friends with the Newman boys, especially Willie. He's one of my best guy friends. He's so sweet (ladies, that's a hint lol)! You couldn't ask for a better friend to cheer you up. :)

Also this Summer, my family lost my Papaw Virgil. It was hard, but like I said, nothing my family couldn't get through. He's in a better place and I have peace of mind.

Overall, this year of 2010 has been full of experiences, good and bad. I believe that it all happened for a reason, though. I'm thankful that I was able to experience all of it!

Christmas:)

Wow! Can you believe it? Christmas is upon us! It has snuck up on us slowly and surely as it always does. This year I have made a major effort in getting gifts. I really wanted to do something special for my family.

This Fall, I joined Beta Club. We had a fundraiser and we sold Avon. This is what first got me thinking about getting gifts for my family. I spent 50 bucks on Avon, but it was so worth it because I know my family will truly enjoy their gifts! I can't wait until I get to see their faces open them. They're not much, but I put alot of effort into picking out these gifts.

Every year on Christmas day, my family (my mom, dad, and two sisters) open Christmas gifts together. On Christmas Eve, we go to my grandparents' on my mom's side to open gifts from them. The day before Christmas Eve, my family ventures to my grandma's to, once again, open gifts.

This year, my youth group had a Christmas party. It was so much fun. The theme of the party was based on the movie "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." Each of us were supposed to dress up as a character from the movie. I chose to be Cindy Lou Who. As most of you know, she has some crazy hair going on! My mom did my hair exactly how Cindy's is in the movie. It looked pretty awesome, if I do say so myself! :)

This year will be different, though. I lost my grandpa this past July. That will be an important element to our family events that we will truly miss.

I have great hopes for this Christmas and I hope my family appreciates their gifts. Well, I'll probably post about what happens during our family festivities later!

Here I Am!!!

Hey! Okay, so I've never done a blog before. This is completely new to me, and from what I hear, all you do is talk about yourself. So that's what I plan to do!

The name of my blog is 'My Glass Slipper'. My whole life, my hero has been Cinderella. Even recently, I've been fantasizing over her. I know, I'm a nerd. Can't a girl dream, though?

Well, even if I don't have any followers, I guess I can do this anyway. Maybe it will 'broaden my horizons'.

So this is officially my first post ever and I'm already pumped!!!

my future home:)
